Short answer
Buying social media engagement isn't a criminal offence in India. SMM panels operate openly as businesses.
Platform rules are different
Instagram, YouTube and others have terms that discourage artificial engagement. Breaking platform terms isn't a crime, but platforms can remove inauthentic engagement — which shows up as drops.
Where it becomes a problem
- Misleading consumers with fake reviews — we don't sell review services for this reason
- Investment schemes using fake popularity to attract investors
- Elections — follow Election Commission rules on campaign spending and conduct
- Harassment or impersonation
Use it responsibly
Use social proof to give genuine products and content a fair start, not to deceive people. See our safe SMM panel guide.
