Instagram shows several numbers for every reel, and they're easy to mix up.
Views (plays)
The number of times your reel started playing. Replays count. It's the public number shown on the reel.
Reach (accounts reached)
The number of unique accounts that saw the reel. Always lower than views.
Impressions
How many times the content was displayed on screen, including repeats.
Which one matters?
- For social proof: views — it's public.
- For brand deals: reach and accounts engaged in Insights.
- For the algorithm: watch time, shares and saves.
Boosting each
Reel views raise the public count cheaply. If you need better Insights for a pitch, use impressions and reach services, which show up in your analytics.
