Likes aren't everything, but a post without them doesn't get far. Here are twelve things that move the number.
- Post faces. Posts with people get more likes than product-only shots.
- Use carousels. People swipe, and Instagram re-shows carousels with the next slide.
- Write a caption that asks something. Questions get comments, which lead to more reach.
- Post at 8–10 pm IST. Peak scroll time for most Indian audiences.
- Share every post to your story with a sticker like "New post".
- Use 3–5 relevant hashtags, including a local one.
- Tag locations. Local discovery is underrated.
- Like and comment on others in your niche for 15 minutes before posting.
- Keep a consistent look so people recognise your posts in the feed.
- Collab posts double your audience.
- Reply to every comment in the first hour.
- Give important posts an early push. A few hundred likes — or Indian likes for local audiences — make a post look worth stopping for.
